Maternity nursing laboratory is a clinical nursing laboratory that prepares students for maternal care before entering the practice field. Maternity Nursing is a form of professional nursing service aimed at women of childbearing age (WUS) related to the reproductive system, pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, between two pregnancies and newborns up to 40 days of age, and their families, focusing on meeting basic needs in adapting physically and psychosocially to achieve family welfare using the nursing process approach.

Competencies learned in the maternity nursing laboratory are physical examination of pregnant women, assisting labor, newborn care, oxytocin massage, physical examination of postpartum women. Competencies learned when carrying out the PONEK laboratory are the handling of severe pre eclampsia, antepartum and post partum bleeding and neonatal asphyxia.

To support learning, the room is equipped with sets for physical examination of pregnant women, assisted labor, newborn care, oxytocin massage, physical examination of postpartum women, management of severe preeclampsia, antepartum and post partum bleeding and neonatal asphyxia.
